Glad you're finding it entertaining.
I'm finding it tiresome.

Graphic Design Forums: A friendly forum for designers

After looking at the staff for this forum
It seems it's run by NCRPads and Stationary Direct (both their websites look like they were designed by the same person or they are both under the same owner)
And I'm assuming you are in some way, shape or form associated with one or both of those companies, because they're the admins.

Anyway, thanks for entertaining my few posts. But if this is a place for professionals to chit-chat, it sure is dead, unless it's more like an echo chamber for NCRPads, Stationary Direct and their employees or relatives. My mistake for coming in here and thinking I could learn something valuable about graphic design, apparently not.

You should learn and implement public relations. For a guy that can't quantify his skill and just tells people he's been in the industry since '97 is just a dumbass look.

Your profile says all this
Print professional with over 20 years' experience. Screen printing, prepress management, graphic design and web
Leading contributor to the Adobe InDesign forums. Specialising in InDesign along with strong knowledge of Illustrator and Photoshop for print reproduction.
Just so you can respond like you did. That's retarded. Anyone can claimn this but if we can't verify it, what's the point? At least the other admins haven't posted claims only to keep their work hidden. Being in the industry since 1997 doesn't mean you're any good either. Your work could very well be mediocre and basic. I know mad people that have been making art and music since the 90's and suck in 2022. Perhaps this is your case as well.

Why put up a twitter account and a google plus link that leads to nothing if you're not interested in sharing your expertise?

You're a lame ass moderator. So you can do whatever you want with this post. Ban my account whatever, who gives a fuck? I'm going back to the Affinity forum, where there's an actual community and less pretentious mods.

Sorry I was in the middle of something and was a bit short with you there.

My bad.

The reason I can't share is because I work a lot of government contracts and pharmaceutical artwork that I am under an NDA.

I still work in creative fields but again most is under NDA.

I only have permission to share the work with others under a release that I have to have before sharing with any third party.

No offence, I don't know you and sharing my portfolio with a 3rd party without consent and proper releases could cost me a lot of money.

Well I hope you mature some day.

You certainly won't last long on forums with that attitude.

I'll leave your account in tact.

I don't really care what you think of me.

I stopped using social media years ago. Those accounts are defunct.

Thanks for stopping by, hope you find what you're looking for.

And it's pretty dead around here. You're right. And the only person interacting with you insulted after they refused your request.

Pretty silly, rather than just accepting the answer, you spiraled into insults.

Pretty bad from you really.

Anyway...

Cope and deflect...?

I don't carry this attitude in other forums. This was isolated, exclusively with you based on how you decided to respond. No one else.
I'll leave your account in tact.
Okay?
I don't really care what you think of me.
I don't think of you.

A forum is still social media.

You seem to be missing the point. But I guess you're also incapable of utilizing some insight and wonder why someone would assume you might be full of shit. Your persona seems pretty consistent on in this forum. So I guess that's why you hide behind HankScorpio (ironically).
Pretty silly, rather than just accepting the answer, you spiraled into insults.
Spiraled into insults? Cry me a river, guy, if your skin is THAT thin...

Imagine if we applied your logic to everyone. There are mad professionals that work with Adobe and other companies that share their work. Isn't this a field of research? As it was stated in other threads? "Research, research, research." That implies, that in order to make a claim, you need proof (which can only be based on research) otherwise, what's the point?

Sorry I was in the middle of something and was a bit short with you there.
Pretty bad from you, really.

NONE of that prevents you from working on personal projects, and EVERY artist, designer or whatever has personal projects.
So if you can't share what's under an NDA, you have nothing else to show for yourself?
What, does the government and pharmaceuticals own you? What kind of explanation is this?

I'm 100% sure if I came to this forum claiming to be some big shot GD for the government and pharma and Adobe, you'd be the first to demand some sort of proof...

There must be SOMETHING to show for yourself that isn't under an NDA...
If you don't actually make graphic art or design, that's fine but god damn, guy
you gotta ease up on your ego.

I do work with Adobe... pretty much daily.

NONE of that prevents you from working on personal projects, and EVERY artist, designer or whatever has personal projects.
I don't have any personal projects. No need to.
I get paid very well for what I do. And I don't do any work outside of that.

What, does the government and pharmaceuticals own you? What kind of explanation is this?
Yes, I am contracted. That's how it works. NDAs are important and expensive. They pay not to share, basically.

There must be SOMETHING to show for yourself that isn't under an NDA...

I don't have an ego.

I have nothing to prove to you or anyone else.

You are the one that came here looking for feedback. And you pretty much threw your toys out of the pram when you didn't like the answer you got.

At the end of the day -nobody is forcing you to post here.
There's plenty of other forums where you might fit in.

But I have a feeling that you find this forum is not to your speed.

If you change your mind. I'll be here watching the tumbleweeds.

Pretty much one of the reasons I hide behind my pseudonym is that I was at one stage targetted for online harassment.
So I don't share any of my private details anymore.

That includes my real name, my work I've done, where I've worked before, or who I have worked with.

And that's completely up to me. It's my life.

So wait, let me get this straight, you don't share what you've done with people online? You just tell them you've been doing this since '97?
I don't share mine here either.....

Have you considered there might be a reason why we don't share them on a forum where we are the moderators and often have to deal with (for lack of a better term) abuse from people who don't always agree with our comments/moderation.... negative reviews, whether true or false, can spread far faster than anything positive and all it takes is one 'disgruntled commenter' with a large instagram following to screw a company over.

I basically share the same comments as hankscorpio, in fact I didn't comment on the original work because to put it simply, I had nothing positive to say about it and I had to go out for the day....

edit: lol I made this comment prior to hankscorpio's comment about online harassment... kind of proves my point

Yes, people have ways of finding things out - so I stopped. I don't even have a LinkedIn account.

Frankly, doing it so long now I don't have a need for an online presence.

My experience speaks volumes in terms of the work I am gauging and bidding on.
And I have necessary permission to share other works should the need arise - or at least I can get it easily.

But the main reason I don't share online is the clients are well known - my portfolio would be public - meaning that it would be open to theft.

And we already saw the OP has taken copyrighted images and used them flagrantly without knowledge of how this could bite the 'competition' owner in the ass.
