You might be onto something there. The thick circle eliminates the need to go with the viewfinder. Thank you, @hankscorpio , I'll get back on this shortly.
@hankscorpio - Roger, understood. On the gritty small details front, I think I can probably get rid of the literal grit and stones (which I had to emphasize the lighting), but I'm still trying to work out what to do with the upper left viewfinder. The bottom right I could use the negative space...
@Levi , @Wardy - Ooorgh. Okay. Massively appreciate your inputs. Will sketch away and come back to you.
@Levi in particular, you really don't think hashing stuff out in 3D helps? It's worked for me in the past, but obviously logo work is not my forte. =)
Do you mean, something like show the camera and then just have the words 'Fixed Camera Appreciation Society'? Not sure I understood this note.
Just have someone looking up at the camera? I can take a crack at that.
Yeah, maybe I'm trying to fit too much into the logo with the heart. Hmm.
Just...
After a long time, came back to the project, have done a little more experimentation. As ever, images are sketches, thinking visually about composition:
So, the thought came to mind about cameramen - instead of just appreciating the angles, perhaps the logo could be about appreciating the craft...
=D I wish! But working quickly in 3D can help me with some complicated compositions. Still not really making much progress with this, though. Taking a short break from it atm, but I'll take suggestions if you have any! =D
Further blind groping towards some kind of a logo. Again, though rendered, this is a SKETCH, purely intended as an arrangement of possibly useful elements, namely:
* Wireframe environment / square on ground to indicate perspective
* Heart to indicate appreciation
* Viewfinder 'L’s to indicate...
Wilco! Thanks Hank! I guess I'll keep iterating. Thanks for the examples! (I take it you think the 'thin line' treatment works for this!)
I'll try to find some other candidates from my sketches. I had the idea of using a hexagon to imply the 3D quality of the room, so I might experiment there...
Thank you, Hank!
Sorry, I should have put 'Logo' in the title of the topic. I'd make the change to the post, but I can't seem to find an 'edit' button anywhere on the page...!
Very much appreciate your advice - I do intend streamlining the logo and making it a clear and legible B&W vector line...
Hey folks! I'm a 3D modeller and a Unity programmer, and I run the Fixed Camera Appreciation Society, a Steam Group for folks who like games like the original Resident Evils, the first Alone in the Darks, Dino Crisis etc. It's a niche interest, but we dig those games and the care and attention...
