If school is not an option your best bet would be to go to lynda.com and start watching craploads of tutorials to get yourself familiar with the adobe suite.
Afterwords just make yourself a portfolio and go from there. Of course in this economy not sure if many employers would give any...
I guess this is directed towards employers more. Curious what size is standard for portfolio's that you expect from a grad when conducting an interview?

I recall hearing in prior posts about how GD grads commonly lack skills in knowing crops, bleeds and masking.
I am looking from the employers out there for the most common/should know skills that grads need to know but commonly don't and frustrates the hell out of you.
If I didn't have so many programs that I use exist only for pc I'd make my next computer a mac. Its funny how I rarely see a dell on tv shows and movies anymore, it's always apple.
I also wonder if the lack of viruses on macs have allot to do with the fact that a large majority of people...
