Promoting on Facebook

Wait a sec... all these success stories with twitter... is it just a case of replying to people who are looking for a designer (ie: replying to 'I need a poster designed!') or is it a case of posting interesting things and hope they find you?
 
Currently I use linkedIn but seems to me it doesn't work good for promoting. And of course facebook, twitter work good, but what about Goole+. Should promote by that, is that work for promoting?
 
We get a few request through twitter as well, just by posting with relavant hashtags really, like #BusinessCards and we might get someone who searched for them on twitter, so i guess you can sign off tweets with #GraphicDesign or something might work for you guys
 
I'm using Twitter a lot for business at the minute. Like Alex from Printedeasy has said, it's all about using the relevant hashtags and networking. Better to build contacts than prospects, then the contacts can either turn into prospects, or recommend you to other prospects.
