I really like the first one the most, the one with the speedometer. It looks like it could be diverse in its implications, as in either about cars, or car accessories or about racing. The other one with the checkered flag I agree with the poster who said it is universal symbol of car racing. Kind of like the universal symbol for diving hoby/lifestyle, I believe it is a red field with a white diagonal line, right?
So as long as your site is actually about F1 car racing then the 2nd one would be great. Anyway, late to this topic but am interested in your revisions, can't wait to see what you've done with these.
