Wedding logos

Hello all,

I am looking at the possibility of creating some wedding logos (like the attached) and was wondering what the best way to do this would be?

What is the thought process with reference to which lines appear at the front and which at the back.

The attached is an example, but the letters would vary depending on the couples initials.

I know these are available to buy, but I want to learn how to make them.

All you need really is a flair for typography and a lot of fonts to choose from, though a lot of the nicest and more modern monograms are done by hand of course.
There's no right way or wrong way to do them. Like anything, you need to start off with a pen and paper and of course, nothing is in front of anything else. The one you've shown
is not a particularly good example, it's a bit too convoluted to me, and the two different fonts don't particularly coordinate.
