Hey guys! I'm new too these forums, this forum seemed nice a friendly place so I thought I'd post here.
I'm in my third and final year at university doing a BA (Hons) in Graphic Design degree. In my previous two years I usually racked up A and B grades, but it wasn't really all that important compared to my final year which is where my grades have fallen, mainly due to having a different tutor who is extremely unhelpful at giving me feedback to improve (which is how I did well in my previous years), so criticism is extremely important to me in improving my grades for a good diploma outcome. So I'm hoping you guys could really give me some much needed feedback!
Short version: My final year is important and I'd like to achieve the highest grades possible for my degree, even though I'm aware a lot of employers don't care for grades.
The project:
I chose my project to be on propaganda. Through my ideas for this I chose to create a series of A2 posters which aims to show issuse within the British Army such as glorifying how great it is to join, when in reality, it's not since it doesn't have as many perks as they make out. The British Army (on their site) say it's like going on holiday, more pay, drug free, respect for one another etc but in reality, a lot of this is not the truth, it's quite well hidden and kept out of the bigger media sources that there is a huge amount of corruption. The issue I'm trying to tackle isn't so much the Army, but the government glorifying how great it is to join; don't become a sheep and follow the herd off the cliff.
The feedback my tutor gave me was 'There were heirachy issues'. Which I agree with, but I have no idea how to correct this due to the imagery and colour. She also mentioned she didn't 'understand it'. I'm not looking to fix the information and facts (as this can be amended later) but more create a better visual style to communicate this.
Give any and all criticism possible so I can improve these posters, even perhaps remove some, I'd be eternally grateful!
