We would like to hear from graphical artists who would be interested in collaborating in the development of mobile apps, principally iOS based. This would be true collaboration, so you would have input into the entire development/marketing process. We have a number of apps underway and a few more ideas, and we would agree in advance apps to develop together. The aim would be to choose apps with the highest likelihood of success and revenue would be shared equally (there are two of us at the moment).

We adopt the latest API for UIs, so use resizing masks and 9 part images to ensure a few assets go a long way. We are looking for skills around shading, lighting and coloring to give apps a very clean but rich and detailed feel. Text work would be kept to a minimum as we use iOS text attributes where possible to aid localisation for international markets. We have done the UI for previous apps ourselves, but as this is not our core skill it takes energy away from coding and extends development time. It does mean we are sympathetic to the process and can identify issues in advance when it comes to slicing and layering images and can give guidance on workflow if this is not something you have done a lot of. We are looking for someone who is professional and methodical, just as we are. With the right experience, someone would easily be able to contribute in their spare time.

If this sounds interesting please do drop me a message, we look forward to hearing from you.

Many thanks,

Eggs

Hi, since the original post we have been commissioned by a large multi-national to update, rebrand and generally refresh an existing app, and so we have an immediate need for a graphic artist with app UI experience on a paid basis, so please do get in touch if you are interested.

Many thanks,

The two are related, we would prefer that the designer on the paid assignment was one willing to collaborate on other assignments. We are seeing quite a large amount of work out there, but who knows it may dry up in which case we would want the designer to help out on our other initiatives on an unpaid basis which could prove quite lucrative in their own right. In other words someone to take the good with the bad. It sounds more flakey than it is, and perhaps I am going about this the wrong way, but I know there are good designers on this forum who have some spare capacity that they are interested in putting to good use.

We have several leads from other sources so it looks like we are now covered. Thanks to all those that viewed this post, I know there was quite a few. It's a shame that legitimate posts made in good faith get a hostile reception, and from people who probably had no real opportunity at it to begin with. It really deters people from posting opportunities here, and that's a shame for the broader user base.

Best to all,

Eggs
