The Arabian Tent Company are giving creative students a platform by launching a competition to design their next themed marquee.

The entries will be judged by Party experts Katherine Hudson (Arabian Tents founder) and Josie Da Bank (Bestival Curator). Once the winning design has been selected, it will be brought to life and used as the venue for a fabulous party for the winner, where the design will be unveiled to the press.

The new marquee design will then be added to the collection at alongside the other popular interiors and will be available to hire to the public for weddings and events from April 2013.

Katherine Hudson has been designing and creating unique marquees and unusual furniture for special events since starting The Arabian Tent Company eight years ago, since then Arabian Tents have been booked for stunning tented events by Prince Charles, Kate Moss, Boy George, Gillian Anderson, Keane and many others.
Each year Katherine designs a new themed interior to add to the growing collection, traveling to India each winter to help produce it. This year she wants to give students the chance to create something new and exciting;

“ I’m so excited at the prospect of seeing what unique and creative designs these young, talented students come up with. I’m really looking forward to having another perspective on the interior and can’t wait to turn the winning design into a tent!”

You have to hope I'm mistaken but I've a very weary kind of feeling that this may be the bit you're looking for, Paul...

BUT! There will be an unveiling party in the newly made tent which the winner and their friends will be able to attend. Score!
Seriously what is the world coming to, people want to pay peanuts for graphic design and even the ones that want to take the piss even further and run a competition...aren't even offering anything worth winning!
I think we should all enter then if one of us wins, invite the rest and drain the free bar!
