The Tavistock Brand

A new identity has been designed for Somerset town, Tavistock. The award-winning market town has been described by Mary Portas as "...one of Britain's best market towns...".

Quite why the town felt it needed to be branded is a mystery me. To increase tourism perhaps, or simply because it was featured on Mary Portas' recent High Street shopping series. Who knows. I like it though, and it got me thinking, could every town be branded in this way?

Like the idea of it but I don't like the promotions - something about the town guide looks amateurish and I'm not keen on the underline on the headings.
