Terms and conditions contract (especially payment!)

Hi everyone!

I'm having a real issue with clients paying months after their work is complete and its slowly killing the business!

Therefore I need a legal document, something like a terms of service agreement, that I can provide to clients BEFORE I start work on any projects for them. The document would cover issues such as - time I expect the project to take, payment, credit terms, and late payment penalties. The thing is I don't really want to go to a solicitor and pay out a small fortune when I'm sure its quite a standard doc, a similar one must be available online somewhere?

Whilst on the subject, what is the usual time you allow for payment in your contracts, is 30 days the norm? Also do you add a percentage to late payments?

Many thanks

Stu

30 days credit (invoice created at completion of job / s).

You need to provide a detailed quotation first which includes credit terms. So important in contract law.

Best wishes
