I'm new to this forum and to jump straight in I need help with my university dissertation research. Could you spare 5 minutes to answer 10 questions about specialising in graphic design and being successful.

Basically Im writing a thesis about whether it is necessary to specialise in visual communication (ie graphics) or is it best to stay generalist and be able to design a little but of everything.
I would be eternally grateful for help and opinions.
