Printers that offer textured paper

Hi all,

I was hoping some of you might be able to point me in the right direction as I am fairly new to the printing world.

I am looking to get some business cards & A3 posters digitally printed at a reasonable price. The main problem that I am having is what paper to use. I am after a textured paper that has a rough / organic / vintage feel to it. I received a few sample packs from mainstream printers out there (printing.com, printed.com, solopress etc) but none of their papers do the trick.

I tried to google the matter without much luck. I read on the forum that many seem to love the GF Smith Colorplan paper, although they seem to be used more for specialist printing using letterpress etc. Is there a printer that offers digital printing on paper similar to colorplan that has the lovely texture but a little lighter?

If anyone can shed some light on the situation I would be extremely grateful.

Many thanks,
Sagi

Try a local printer, one you can talk to! Anyone who has either digital (go for Xerox 700 or 1000) or small (B3) format printing will be able to help you. G F Smith do make some papers that are digital and they can be bought in small quantities. Do not expect to pay the same price as you would through the internet... the internet deals deliberately use a limited number of paper types so they don't have vast stock build up that they can't sell.

Or perhaps one of the printers on here can help... but it is good to have someone local for these odd jobs.

If you can email me your address details, I would be happy to send you samples..

Neil

sounds like pulp board may be your answer has a nice thick feel and organic look.

We can do this but feel free to pm me if you would like more info or samples of it :)

Cheers
Iain

Thanks Kate for the info! That is really helpful. I am based in Manchester so if anyone can recommend a local printer that would be much appreciated.

Also thanks Neil and Iain. I'll get in touch on the email.
