Order of Inks for Duotones?

When creating a Duotone in Photoshop – does it make any difference which ink specified as number 1 and which number 2?

Typically black for shadows and grays for midtones and highlights. So you could have the dark color for the shadow and lighter color for midtones and highlights.

But depends on what effect you're going for.

Thanks for your reply hankscorpio, but what I really mean is does it matter which order the inks are? So, for instance does the darker ink (shadows etc) need to number one, or doesn't it make any difference?

As far as I can tell it doesn't make a difference.
I'd still put ink 1 as the darkest colour. It's been so long since I had to do this.
