Junior/Middleweight Designer – Initially Part Time. (Gateshead or Dunbar Studio)
We’re looking for a talented Junior/Middleweight designer to join our design team. At the heart of the creative process, you’ll live and breathe design; be up to date with design trends, producing engaging design solutions and industry leading concepts, creating fresh ideas to breathe life into a wide variety of briefs.
You may have a wealth of experience or be a recent and talented Graduate but we want to see a portfolio of your graphic design work across the marketing spectrum along with your application and CV.
The role – What would be expected of you?
A dynamic role, your core function will be to assist with all graphic design, artwork, digital and marketing communications under the direction of the design lead.
The ideal candidate will have a broad range of graphic design skills with experience gained from a graphic design agency or be an exceptional graduate who can hit the ground running.
The successful candidate must have:
Strong attention to detail
Strong communication skills
Work well under pressure with multiple projects
Work well as a team and be prepared to take direction
Able to demonstrate a high level of organisation skills
Able to react quickly to changing demands and priorities
High level of energy to drive projects to completion and sustain productivity
Interpreting briefs and choosing appropriate media and style to meet objectives and ensure agreed deadlines are met
Experience and high proficiency in Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, illustrator
Strong typographic, layout, colour, composition, good understanding of the artwork, print and production processes
A portfolio demonstrating all of the above and showing strong technical and creative ability
Knowledge of HTML, WordPress, or other web development software is beneficial but not essential
Based in either our Gateshead or Dunbar (East Lothian) studios, this is a part time, salaried role initially working on a flexible contract working three days per week. Ongoing, we hope this role shall develop into a full time position for the right candidate.
Salary will be negotiable based on experience.
