I'd agree with John, Illustrator is definitely the best programme for this kind of thing. However, assuming you don't have access to it you can create a simple leaf shape (more of an icon in this case) with a few simple tools in InDesign. Create some overlapping circles and then use the 'Intersect' pathfinder option to create the main leaf shape. Simply add some intersecting lines with the line segment tool to make up the rest of the leaf. You can always adjust some of the anchor points with the direct selection tool to create a more 'leaf' like shape. Or you could just use the Pen tool and plot out a leaf shape by plotting points - you could even use a reference image to trace. Screenshot 2019-10-25 at 15.50.14.png
