Help with app character!

Hey Guys,
I am hoping to develop an app soon and need a cartoon hippo from a birds eye view (simply an exaggerated comic hippo viewed from above). I cannot yet afford to pay a professional illustrator a high price for a reasonable quality design. I am rubbish at drawing myself and therefore am looking for either some help or a website/tutorial which can help me I have looked around and a hippo viewed from above (comic looking) is not a commonly drawn character

I should say rubbish at drawing characters, I can sketch typography etc.
