Thats a fair point Geoff, I think that initial ice breaking is where many of us struggle.

I work full time and just freelance in my spare time, which doesnt leave me much time to meet clients. I rely on social networking, emails and more of a web based presence as well as personal recommendations to get work. I do often wonder how I could make more of an effort to reach local companies but the question is where to start and how to make an impression.

The usual letters/emails/phonecalls are often a waste of time so Ive started researching more unusual ways of making a mark!
