Free fonts for commercial use

Hi all,

Just a quick question. When looking for new fonts I usually use free font sites such as dafont.com. I am wondering about the legality of using fonts from these sites for commercial use, even though they are free. Some fonts do come with a read-me file that says not for commercial use, but what about the others?

I think you have to read the individual license per font. If you want free commercial fonts then font squirrel is pretty good Handpicked free fonts for graphic designers with commercial-use licenses. | Font Squirrel

Yeah I always do, but what about the ones that do not have any licence information in the zip file? Am I then allowed to use that font as I wish?

I recently found out about that website, I shall be giving it ago.
