Editing Font for Logo

Hello,

I have been following this tutorial to edit R letter for logo:

First, I could not cut a part of the R letter with my drawing part in between the R (R Logo.jpg).

Second, I am trying to curve the R letter foot (R Logo Curve.jpg) with the white cussor but stilll unsuccessful.

Any idea why?

This is pretty simple - but the person doing the video is a bit clumsy. But overall satisfied that they took steps to remove extra anchor points.

For the corner anchor to show up you need to simplify the path to make it a corner.

I think I figure this one out: klik right at the letter --> Create Outline

Yes it needs to be outlined to make edits like this.
