DAM recommendations?

Looking for a digital asset management system if anyone can recommend anything they may have used before?

Had a few quotes but way above price point - like 40k above.
 
They just want aportal rather than using email.

Large images and design files.

Not drop box or anything likewise.

so is this for working on 'active projects' rather than long term storage... if it is they might get away with something more along the lines of project management software (for reference rather than anything - duetapp.com) rather than full on dam..
 
It's one project for a client. The job is a nationwide fitout of over 100 stores, so it's to share those assets, proofs and things like that, images of the fitouts etc.

Don't want basecamp, tried that before.

So basically a central 'database' of assets linking to the stored files and then a 'remote storage server' with access from each individual store location. Maybe partial onsite storage as well..

Honestly if thats the case I'd maybe look at a bespoke design. You could likely remove all the extra stuff you'll be paying for but not using and streamline it purely for the client.
