Cameo logos?

I've recently started working on a new contract with a company, in-house.
Among their files are white versions of various logos which they've called 'cameo' versions.
I've been working in the industry for a long time and have never heard of this. Has anyone else?

:)

In my head I've heard of cameo as a video editing software... only one I can find on google is the vimeo one so it's possible it was used with that.

As the saying goes, if in doubt, ask.... it's not your fault if they've not labelled things in a way you can understand things.

Unfortunately, the reason I'm there is that their design folk have left.
It doesn't really make any difference to me. The logos are just reversed white versions of various logos. It's just the naming convention I'm not sure about.

Maybe it means the designers made an appearance, named the files and buggered off. Word up!

The only thing I can think of that comes close is a cameo brooch. Maybe someone was struggling to understand the white versions, and it was explained like a cameo, and it's stuck now.
