Any SEO professionals?

Hello!

I was just wondering if anyone could give me a bit of help with SEO.

Most Graphic Design places near me also branch into SEO, I've been emailing around and applying for jobs, but I don't want to go into anything blindly.

Can anyone suggest any YouTube videos on SEO?
Any software that might be useful?
Any other tidbits on SEO that might be useful?

Thanks in advance.

Then work through this: https://guidelines.raterhub.com/Fsearchqualityevaluatorguidelines.pdf

Then this: https://backlinko.com/local-seo-guide

Then start following sites like these:

And then practice, practice and practice more. Start building test sites to rank for chosen keywords. Start local and then build up to more difficult phrases.

Give yourself a year or two to learn the techniques and skills.

I suspect those Graphic Design places near you either outsource SEO or do SEO badly. Most do.

Thanks for all the info!

There's a company close to me that's actually a SEO agency, but have a Digital Marketing/ Groahic Design department (this is the one that would be my dream work environment). They invest in their employees and give a lot of training, I just wanted to start off on the right foot and at least be able to show some knowledge on the subject.

SEO isn’t that difficult. But you need to do lots of research and then practice. Once you get the basics in place you will soon see improvements in ranking.

You will see a lot of SEO agencies focus on link building, this is a flawed approach and one Google is ignoring more and more. Good SEO begins on the site. Here is my starter for 10:

Decent hosting
A fast responsive site
Holistic approach to content (all on topic)
Write informative, interesting content that adds value
Clear calls to action
Trust marks, referrals and citations
Internal navigation
Page titles
Images and alt text
Google My Business pages.

There is obviously a lot more detail behind this list but there are thousands of blogs and articles you will read giving you this detail.

Set up a few Wordpress blogs and start practicing.

Great resources for learning SEO. Search engine journal is the best place to find all the answers.

There is a lot of misinformation in the moz guides. You need to take everything anyone says with a pinch of salt wherever you research and test it yourself.
