Advice on getting my work seen

Hey there!

I've been a freelance illustrator for about 3 years and only been getting regular work from about 2 or 3 clients. I'm wondering if anyone can give me some advice on getting my work out there to potential clients.

I have a portfolio, twitter and blog here.

I've been told to send my portfolio everywhere, but I'm not sure how to go about doing it. Do you email magazines, websites, publishers etc directly or is there some other route you would reccomend going through?

I am kinda in the same situation, just that I do graphics rather then illustration. All I can say is network more, behance, cargo, conceptart, etc etc. Do some work with groups like good for nothing is another way to go.
 
Yeah, just networking, try to go to different networking events, as some of them are even free, it takes time, but never give up
