A little help with the "S"

I'd like to know your opinion for this:

It's a logotype for my website wasabistudio.it, it's a two letters logo, with "w" and "s", with the name written down of it.
I'm super convinced of the "w", but there's something in the "s" that's driving me crazy.
I think it's too much rounded and tall, and makes the weight off balance..
What do you think?

I have an issue with the w.... it's ok in black and white but in green/orange it doesn't look like a w to me without the wasabitstudio underneath it.

S will feel unbalanced because it's taller so it seems like a capital letter next to a lower case w and it's also lacking it's 'tail' on the lower end of the S, most S letters have a slight weighting vertically to the curves so there is a larger curve on the lower half and there is a little 'tail' at the end of the bottom curve making it slightly wider at the bottom versus the top.

I also think that "s" is too tall and big.
What I don't like is the curvature at the back of the s, and the white space between w and s, in my opinion it breaks the two letters too much and does not uniform them.
I'll try to make it a little bit smaller, add the tail and change the shape a little bit.

Yes I can see that but people won't be doing that when they land on the site. They will be looking on the homepage to see if you can meet their needs. It's one of the reasons why the hamburger is a very poor alternative to the main menu. You are much better off displaying the logo and menu when people land on the page and keeping a sticky header when they scroll.

However, you asked about your logo and not for a review of your site. I'd keep it really simple and not even have a logo like that. Just use the words and not the WS.

Thanks for the tips, I'm a little embarassed cause I know too that it's like you said, but I'm still working on the static homepage that shoud display my logo, and untill I don't find the right shape of the logo I'm not posting it, so it's a damned loop...
You say that I should have just the plain text, is it cause you don't like particulary the shape of the logo or is it your general belief?
 
Most people don't look at an register a logo when the land on the site. Many don't even notice the main navigation or banner images. Their eyes go straight to the content which they then scan to look for triggers. If they see (within seconds) the information they are looking for they will then relax and begin to absorb the messages on the page. By this time they may well already be scrolling down the page so your header is now redundant. Which means they generally won't even remember your logo.

If you just use your business name as a logo and add a tagline to tell people what you do there is a better chance they will remember who you are.

As time goes on and your brands becomes more well known you can develop an icon. Even Mcdonalds didn't have the golden arches for 15 years.

Keep it simple.
 
Beside the shapes/balance I think it's a little strange that the S is bigger, signifying that it's the more important part of the logo, making me read it as "Sw". This combined with the shape makes me think of a swan, and now I can't un-see that. So, maybe change your name to "Swan studio" and keep the logo? Otherwise, since I guess "Wasabi" is the more important word in your name I'd try make the W part more prominent.
