They're not bad. The first example has the massive text I referred to. The second is a pretty classic vertical stacking mobile layout. I personally don't see the need for responsive sites at all. They very rarely improve on the full desktop version, and in most cases are far inferior.

Mobile sites, on the whole, suck. First thing I do is look for a 'desktop version' button. The type and images are getting bigger and bigger with less on screen, while at the same time my mobile screen gets larger and more hires. I much prefer to see the desktop version so I can everything...

They should produce a brief for you to create the guidelines. The tone of voice, what the company is about, all that kind of thing - that's marketing. How you use the graphic identity, do's and dont's, colour pallette, font usage, document templates etc, that's your job.

For selling on template websites. Obviously it needs discussion on royalties, theme support etc. It's an idea I've been kicking around for a while and I thought I'd try and do something about it.
