WordPress is content management system based open source website and CMS allow you to manage your website from user friendly interface. You can make any changes from admin area because it is quite easy and you don’t need to expert in coding.
Advantages of WordPress Website:
  1. It is very easy to Update
  2. You will find many professional website templates according to your niches
  3. Full control and ownership
Disadvantages of Using WordPress:
  1. Maintenance
Most website on the internet use HTML (Hyper Text Markup Language) to show web pages. For a HTML website you need to hire a web development and they will use HTML, CSS, and JS to create your company or business website.
Advantages of a HTML Website
  1. Low Maintenance
  2. Low Requirements
Disadvantages of a HTML Website:
  1. No Additional Features
  2. No Updates
  3. Costly
Now you can decide which is better WordPress or HTML.

Yeah erm... I'm no web developer but this isn't exactly correct information... Plus it is completely biased towards Wordpress.

Um... maybe I'm missing something but isn't wordpress just 'prepackaged' html, css, js and database with a user friendly front end which anyone with enough knowledge could do from scratch....

The thread title is misleading, the question asked is basically pros/cons of a WP/CMS-driven site rather than a static one and the answer is somewhat misinformed.

Technically it's the themes that are (minus the database which is hosted on your server). Wordpress itself is essentially the back-end built on PHP. It accesses the database and outputs the content as HTML that a browser can render and JS can target and manipulate. This is how any site built on PHP works. The PHP content is only for the server to interpret, the actual pages are always displayed as HTML in the browser.

If you've got time to write such utter drivel, surely you've got time to do some actual research in to web development?!

Lets go through this shall we:

Advantages of WordPress Website:
1. It is very easy to Update.
2. You will find many professional website templates according to your niches.
3. Full control and ownership

Content is easy to update, however as you're advising that people rely on third party themes and plugins, they instantly lose any control or ownership they had to a multitude of developers and become reliant on each developer maintaining their plugins and pushing updates live to keep up with wordpress' updates. As soon as one developer decides to pull the plug or cease support it can disable a site completely.

Disadvantages of Using WordPress:
1. Maintenance

The wordpress core updates itself, so where's the hardship in that? A properly developed Wordpress site will have little or no reliance on 3rd party plugins so the need for developer based maintenance is almost completely restricted to the addition of new functionality.

Most website on the internet use HTML (Hyper Text Markup Language) to show web pages. For a HTML website you need to hire a web development and they will use HTML, CSS, and JS to create your company or business website.

Only most?...are you sure? Any site developed properly will require a developer's intervention at some point.

Advantages of a HTML Website
1. Low Maintenance
2. Low Requirements

Disadvantages of a HTML Website:
1. No Additional Features
2. No Updates
3. Costly

ALL WEBSITES ARE SERVED TO YOUR BROWSER AS HTML. YOUR ARGUMENTS HERE ARE IRRELEVANT!!
