This is so frustrating as I have managed to do this previously, and I really can't figure out what I'm doing wrong this time.

OK - I have some vector work in Ai that I'm happy with and I want to update a twitter avatar / header with part of the vector, but when I save for web, and try to use the file it's badly pixelated in Twitter.

I'm adjusting the artboard size to the recommended 48x48px for the smallest av. and I've tried all the file formats (Png is best anyway, right?), and it still looks like crap.

    Any thoughts straight off?

    twitter is: @night_shapes

I have left the avatar up

    Cheers

    Steve

    I just made them bigger...

I found a site which said it gave the correct dimensions, but it didn't really work for me. The ones that looked best to me which were much larger.
