RGB% on external monitor when using laptop

Hi,
If I use a100% RGB external monitor with a laptop (but laptop screen doesn't have 100% sRGB)

Will the external monitor give me wider more accurate RGB colour when using Photoshop on the laptop ?

The external monitor will have a wider range of colours it can show within the rgb colour spectrum compared to the laptop, however it's accuracy will depend on it's calibration by you and/or at the factory, same goes for the laptop screen in fact.

Thanks for that, I wasn't sure if it was the laptop or the monitor that made wider colour. I'm looking at a couple of laptops with close to or 100% srgb but if I don't get it then I can go with a monitor for home work.
