Novice need help resizing PDF files of music notation

I'm a bit of a newb when it comes to graphics, here's something that has me stumped.

I use a music DAW with score notation (Apple LogicX). It has a PDF export function which saves to clipboard, but when I export a page of the score it is a hugePDF image (e.g. an A4 page of score is 10042px x 12220 300dpi when I paste from clipboard to Photoshop). I want to resize and convert to .png (about 600px wide) to use on a website and so I resize the PDF in photoshop, but the lines of the staff always go very blurred.

It seems to make little difference whether I choose Bicubic, Bicubic Sharper, Nearest Neighbour etc.

Does anyone know a good way to do this and keep the lines nice and sharp looking?

PS: yes, as a workaround I could do a screenshot from the application, but there seems to be no way to lose the padlock icons you get as guides when you have changed the bar layout, plus the background is cream not white.
