Image uploader problem in wordpress

#1
On my site (Harlequin Studio) the image uploader doesnt seem to work. When i try to upload a image i get the following message

“Untitled.png” has failed to upload due to an error
Unable to create directory /data/www/vhosts/harlequin-studio.co.uk/httpdocs/ftp://harlequin-studio.co.uk/httpdocs/img. Is its parent directory writable by the server?

The parent directory is writable so i dont know whats going on.

Any ideas?

Apache needs to have write permission on the dir. I suspect you've only checked that you have write perms instead. I don't know what your hosting setup is but, if you can, run ls -l on /data/www/vhosts/harlequin-studio.co.uk/httpdocs/ftp://harlequin-studio.co.uk/httpdocs/ and paste the output.

Well that depends on your hosting set up like I said. Do you have SSH access or any ability to run commands on the server? If it's a reasonably popular hosting company you're using then I'm sure there'll be some kind of help article or forum post on their site about how they want you to do this because it's a very common setup hurdle.
