GDPR and HTTP updates...

So on top of the joy of adding GDPR to clients websites we've managed to find time to update our own -

www.labanbrowndesign.co.uk

Not only is cookie acceptance and an update privacy policy required but an additional check box on a form page too to keep the powers that be happy. The next 'helpful requirement is for client websites to sit under a secure certificate (HTTPS rather than just HTTP).

What's interesting is learning that the mighty power that is BT Business knows nothing of the requirement to have sites updating to HTTPS (the guys on their helpdesk literally don't know what a SSL is!) So if you have clients needing it you'll need to work around it as they don't allow cPanel access in order for you to apply it.

The next build of Google Chrome is going to insist on sites SSL or they'll get a warning message. Helpful.

Has anyone else had any interesting experiences in updating?

I spoke to someone at HMRC recently that had apparently never heard of GDPR. Probably went in one ear and out the other.
