Font or graphic?

Hi,

I'm hoping someone might be able to help me. I am doing my best to rebrand my women's boutique and have come across the attached image. I love the MVK lettering but was wondering if this is a font or an image that has been created? If it is a font, does anyone know which one? And if it is an image, can anyone give me advice on how I would create this? I am using Illustrator.
Any help would be appreciated.

There probably are similar fonts out there. But this is basically done done by converting text to outlines and then using pathfinder tools to remove chunks of the letters. It can also be done in something like Photoshop by using non-destructive masks to hide the parts you don't want visible.
