Does pixel art suits for a facebook game?

I'm an artist in a small gamedev company and we are going to make a small game for mass audience in facebook. I prefer pixel art, but I'm not aware of how it is perceived by a wider audiences. I was thinking of making something like Game Dev Story art but not sure if it will work. Maybe it is better to make kind of flat art? What do you think?

Actually i think they all are equally.Importent and look good when made with good effort and passion i a few days ago saw a trailer about a game which was a pixel are game but it looked awesome have you heard about the last night game have a look at its trailer.
