Designing a seating plan for wedding

Hello all,

I am wondering if someone can help please.

I am looking at creating customised seating plans for weddings - similar to the attached.

Ideally what I would like to do is create the layout, then when my customer provides me with a spreadsheet to import directly to the layout (as opposed to me manually entering them).

I do have a bit of experience with Illustrator/

I understand that this might be fairly difficult, but I am keen to learn.

Any assistance would be much appreciated.

It wouldn't be very difficult.

If you make yourself some templates first.
Just remember to make the page the right size and remember to add some bleed (about 3-5mm should be fine).

Make sure any images (like the flowers and border) are vectors preferably or at least 300 dpi.

You could set up your text with dummy text for the layout but these things tend to change depending on the number of tables and such.

I don't think there's a way of importing the text apart from copy and pasting it in.
Often (I've found) when doing this from a MS package, the text often does a few odd things and you have to manually correct these.
