I want to create a simple - but rather cryptic looking - site based on this concept:

    useful fragments

So really a series of individual html pages that contain text, images and the odd mp3, each page linked to the next by simple buttons or html links.

Can anyone recommend a good but free HTML editor for the Mac that will enable me to create this kind of thing and preview a page i've just created in a browser offline?

Mmm....can I just ask why would you want to create a site like the one above?

    Hi Jazajay -

It's part of a viral campaign for an art collective... a sort of cryptic online sketchpad of drawings and music. It doesn't need to make any sort of sense, which is ultimately the whole point of the site!

It just needs to feel very abstract and very confusing!

Aww, let us know when it's up, wouldn't mind taking a look. :)
