Coloured pencil drawing to get out of a creative rut.

    I think I saw this on your Instagram feed this morning. I like the pilot in the cockpit, nice touch :)

    Looks good, I like the scetchy monotone style. Just doodling or is this for something specific?
     
  5. Just something to get me out of a rut really. I do nearly all my drawing in ink - whether that's a brush pen, nib pen, or technical pen. Sometimes you just need to get away from what you're used to I think.

    I use blue pencils to do most of my sketching before I ink

    I was using blue pencils back at uni, just because I liked them after seeing some 'old school' work done using them, they weren't exactly cheap though :(

    Mind you I seem to have a 'thing' for old school design stuff, I use brown ink (normal fountain pen and my rotring art pens) rather than black too.... which is also a nice way to prove it 'was signed by me' because I only use my own pen to sign stuff :)

    Yeah you do have to fork out more for the non waxey pencils
