Can I change the defaults for "Apply Bullets" in InDesign?

Whenever I add a set of bullets to a paragraph, the default left indentation is always 6.35mm and the first line indentation is the same. I always switch it to 4mm, almost regardless of what I'm working on.

Is there anyway to set this to the default for adding any bullets to any document, rather than having to set up styles for each document?
  2. if you go into the Indesign Preferences there should be bullet point style options in there, with the option to change the indentation. :)

Where about in the preferences is that option? I had a look before posting and I've had a look again, but can't find it.
  4. hmmm also are you on a Mac or PC as the option might be in a different place :)

PC. But preference menus are the same regardless of platform. Where can you see the option you suggested?
  6. on a Mac the preferences are under the InDesign menu and on a PC it should be under the file menu in theory :)
