    Hey guys,

I recently logged into my WP admin and noticed there is an update available, 3.9 I believe. It says I must back up before updating. I noticed there are quite a few methods used to back up and I was wondering whether anyone could point me in the right direction of how exactly I should do this back up. What is the best (and preferably simplest) way to back up my Wordpress? Are automatic WP back up plugins any good? If so, which one(s).

You can use something like FileZilla to access the FTP and just make a copy of the files.

And don't forget the database through phpmyadmin.

How do I access the FTP once I have FileZilla?

Do you have the links by any chance?

Do these programs work within my Wordpress admin login? Like a plug-in?

    Thanks fellas

Come to think of it, i'm sure my host has a backup system in place, think I may have a look and give them a call to check.

Most decent web hosting companies will offer backups.

Most web hosts offer backups, which you can do through cPanel.
