Hi, I'm designing this for my business which I will be starting.

I understand the logo may need work (logo's are not my strong point) but that aside what do you think of the general layout of the rest of the website?

    Homepage:

This is not finished yet, header and billboard section is complete but still need to mock up some content for underneath maybe explaining my services.

    Portfolio page:

Any feedback would be very much appreciated, thanks.

Whats the crack with the background? It seems a little bit irrelevant. If you feel any part of your design (may) need work, you are only human, but its probably because it does need work. I realise you are selling yourself, but it doesn't hurt to outsource something to someone else, if you feel it is a weak point.

I just thought it added a nice visual element.

I quite like the background image, however the whole website feels quite dark. The layout works well and it seems as though it would be easy to navigate through.

I agree with mrp, the background you've chosen seems irrelevant considering your service. If you were a photographer, sure, that would make sense. I don't like the logo or its positioning with the transparent background. Standard fonts and photoshop/firework effects does not make for a decent logo.

Also for me, you do too much. Too much for you to be professional at, at least. All of those areas are rather large and involve a lot of effort to be good at. The more you diversify your list of services the more competition you will have to deal with and the greater the chance that a potential client will find someone who specialises entirely in web design, ui/ux design, graphic design, photography or marketing services which means they will most likely choose them over you.

I read a quote which applies directly to your situation, which is:

You’re better off being the first choice of 10 percent of the population than being one of 10 options for everyone.—businessweek.com

You can read that quote and the articles discussing the issue here: Are You Making These 8 Marketing Mistakes?

As I've said to other people, it's not a case of build it and they will come. You need to focus your services to appeal to particular market segments instead of trying to appeal to everyone. As you provide marketing services, I'm sure you already know this though ;)

Thanks. By the way your agency/the agency you work for which is in your sig looks awesome! The design is nice and clean, quite inspirational really - makes mine look a bit too cuttered and messy.

Fair comments dude, you are obviously quite clued up about this sort of thing! Thanks for the article links, will have to give them a read.
