  • Hi,

I'm new to all of this forum writing, but I thought I'd join to leave a message and share your thoughts - I am not sure if you can help??

I work as a graphic designer for a marketing and design company. Over the past 2 years we have created a considerable amount of artwork for a client of ours, including brochures, posters, adverts, information leaflets, notices etc. Our client has recently told us that they no longer wish to work with us (which we believe is because an ex-colleague is now working with them and saying goodness knows what about us?!) Our ex-client is now refusing to pay us for any work files completed recently until they receive all artwork files in pdf editable format. One, I am not sure if we are able to do this and two, I am not sure if we are obliged to give them everything by law?

We don't really want to spend the best part of a day converting all files to pdf editable files, but we want to get back to them with a response ASAP.

Any advice you can give would be greatly appreciated!
