I'd center this also. The other thing that bothers me is how items have a more traditional rectangular representation, but also a more abstract physical-form-based representation. These aren't necessarily next to each other or even near each other. Its confusing when I highlight something and...

    Where do I start?

I'd create some strong concept driven work on your own. I'm not too keen on things like obvious rebrands or logos—it's obvious to anyone that looks at your portfolio that it's literally just work you made for the sake of making it. Maybe it's just me, but I much prefer work with meaning behind...

    Portfolio Crit Please

I don't think you need a contact form on every page, or even the homepage. It makes you seem a bit desperate (which maybe you are, but you don't want to seem that way!) About and contact pages generally can go together or be separate, your call, but personally besides a line to an email address...

New portfolio website - feedback please

This. They're two very different languages. Javascript is fine, and ignoring IE is fine, so long as you've analyzed your statistics and can afford to. I have about 3-5% IE visitors, and very few of those are IE6 or 7 so I just don't optimize for them. Most people viewing my site use Chrome...

Redesigning Mozilla.org - Cool community design project

I agree. They're really trying hard to incorporate a grunge look and it's not really working. What happened to simplicity? The grunge makes me feel like they're over-complicating their entire operation.

    Portfolio Website

Haha, really? Is it that cheesy? The blurb quite accurately describes my opinion on the subject, so at least for now I think I'm going to keep it as-is. Sorry! Hmm, I thought about this. The problem that I found was that work was bigger, but not quite as big as it should be if I displayed them...

    Logo Design Critique

I'm not sure. I kind of feel like these are missing something, but I can't pinpoint what. I think you need to keep it a clean solution, so as not to really dilute any meaning and for aesthetic purposes to, so the last two I definitely would scratch, but there's nothing really "outstanding" about...

    Portfolio Website

The links on the left side were kind of placeholder for when I put my other works up... a.k.a things that aren't quite the centerpieces. The actual portfolio is on the right hand side represented by those thumbnail links. It's a bit confusing, I should remove them until they're live.

    Portfolio Website

Yeah, on my wallpaper and avatar its cropped, modeled more after the front of my business card. It's the full asterisk on everything else. I just needed some spice in my life after seeing it for so long. :p

    Portfolio Website

Hey all, Recently we had a job fair in my university's design school, so it was a wake-up call to make a portfolio! Here's the main attraction: j.edmund portfolio And here's some nice little extras, some of which are part of the more physical aspect of the portfolio: j.edmund blog Stuff I’ve...

    Graphics Tablets...

I think it's a very good investment to make if you know you're going to use it. Before I really got into design, I was big on art and illustration and got a DELETER XP-Pen. It was a crappy little thing but I made due with it until the plastic pen broke so many times super glue really just wasn't...

Post a photo of your work space

It's my dorm setup, which is a lot more cramped than my home setup. I miss having actual bookshelves and space to roll my chair around. I also miss having a rolly chair. Oh well. Summer soon :)
