As the title suggests,

I am working on a sign design project and am wondering how is best to create/format the design to be sent to a sign makers.

The sign is a raised lettered sign.

I am currently working in illustrator to design this.

Any help or links to help would be greatly received.

Thanks

Im designing for a client and he is geting the sign printed, do you recomend just ringing a sign makers and asking them? That does make sence to be fair.

Thanks-

Yeah I would phone the sign maker they are going to use as different sign makers may have different requirements, phoning and asking just saves you doing things twice

Last sign I did with raised lettering (about 12 months ago), the sign writer wanted an expolded diagram of how the sign would layer up, a vector file for each layer of the sign, a vector file of the vinyl layers to be applied to the top layer of the sign and a drawing of the completed sign face on.
