I'm sorry but this doesn't really seem like a very good contest reward let alone an 'offer'.

You basically want a very specific human anatomy model, which for most people will take more than a day, and the online advertising rights for a perpetual license, which is in real terms a 1 YEAR license, which has a purchase value of 299 euros.

Personally, I've no problem with the contest. Free software forever, sounds good to me.

I'm not a 3D modelling expert, so I don't know the complexities, but I'm sure if anyone is interested they can enter if they want.

I totally agree with you, if the reward was a 1 Year license, it would not be worth it. But perpetual means forever.
Perpetual can mean two options, one of which basically comes down to an initial 'one year' ownership then support payments after it, so the mistake is easy to make considering your site doesn't appear to state it is a 'buy it once to keep' option. Also no mention of what happens when there are updates etc.

I still don't personally feel this is a good deal, it's very much bordering on crowdsourcing 3D work under the guise of a contest. They get lots of 'free entries' and then they pick the best one for $299..... which imo is less than the value of doing the work (I do work in 3D albeit a different area) and that's only if you're lucky enough to win.

@Levi But aren't all competitions or contests a form of crowdsourcing in a way? It may not be a big enough prize for what they are requesting but that is surely up to the individual whether or not they deem it an acceptable price to enter.

We would have to stop all competitions/ contests (I wouldn't be against this) if we don't allow one's worth over a couple hundred quid.

True but not everyone, ie students or post grads, know what their time is truly worth when they're new to an industry and lets be realistic someone who's been doing this for a living for a while isn't going to enter this type of contest.

If people still want to enter then that's choice but I'm going to say, as I have on others, if I think something is bad value for the person entering so the people considering entering can make an informed decision.

Although I will say I'm never a fan of a contest that has a very specific requirement, like this one, because that to me always screams trying to get work done on the cheap, where as a more open brief, where you have more choices of what you enter, seems more like it's about promoting the business via social media etc.
