Optimisation

Hi all, I’m fairly new to the graphic design world and wanted some advice.
I recently created a logo for a client, which was fine. He came back asking to have his website banner designed, which I did. The image worked fine on laptop/pc, but as soon as it was on a mobile device it didn’t work. My question - do I need to send him a different file (size or format) or should his web dev do the optimisation? If I need to do something else, what exactly is it? Thanks in advance!

Depends on the website and how the banner is implemented in all honesty. Would need more information before answering really.

Well the website banner is in png format, but I believe they use Mange3 (?). I’m not in contact with the website guys, which means I have no idea what they are doing
