I am no website designer but for a company offering website design as a service your website looks amateur, just a quick search on google brought up these 2 sites:

Web design | Affordable Website Design from £249
Web Design, Website Design, Web Designers, Advert Design

Not saying these are fantastic but if 1000 customers came across your website and these 2 I can guarantee you would not get 1 order, if you look at the design of these 2 sites and compare to yours you will see why.

If design isn't your strong point, for example you are a coder or your expertise is in back end systems then get a freelance designer on board, seriously, from the last site you showed to this one there has not been a massive step forward in terms of design, outsource the design and you will be much more successful.

Just my thoughts, hope they are constructive

I kinda agree with the above to be honest, the site's not looking brilliant...especially if what you offer is Website Design, the advice to outsource design is good and maybe something worth looking into.

Hi Rob,

I think there's an improvement, however, there are still other things that need to be worked on.

I think the logo looks a bit too clip-arty and if you are offering logo design, your own logo needs to have a bit more 'umph'. The slideshow of images on the homepage is maybe a little too fast(could be just me on this one).

Just looking on the portfolio page of web designs and the 'Beaches@Newquay' website says it has been designed by 'Computing Resolved' - is this another branch of the company?

I think the main thing that is lacking is the actual design, in honesty, if you could sort that out by possibly hiring a freelancer then do the coding etc, yourself, you'd have something a lot more professional, that customers would be more willing to buy from.

Hope this helps

Hi There

Thank you for your feedback.

The Beaches@newquay was designed by another company, at present we are updating and maintaining the website for them, it would be improper for us to take credit for the website they designed and descriptions will be added to the portfolio under each website.

With regards to the logo, I appreciate your feedback on this, however, we have had the logo looked at by several people including business people and our general client portfolio all have provided positive feedback leading to the choice of logo.

They're lying or don't know what they are talking about, in my opinion the logo looks bad, sorry :icon_blushing:

Following everyones feedback to the old website I have redone it, and this time I'm quite confident we have got it right

Again, I have to disagree the site looks amateur at best, as advised above hire a designer.

Hi,
Hardly think a well qualified business adviser would be lying:icon_smile: The Logo was picked because it was simple and said exactly what we wanted it to say. We didn't want anything fancy as i say just clean and simple. As for showing off what we can do in regards of logos the portfolio will be updated with our past and present works.

At the end of the day it is all to do with personal preference you can't please everyone all of the time :)

Again.... Might not be to everyone's taste and yes still needs tweaking but on the whole feedback has been exceptionally good on this site compared to the previous ones. And this has been from people who have given us an honest opinion of the past ones which haven't been good!

You can't please everyone, that is true. But when you are being peer assessed by people in the specific field, they aren't all wrong.

I have an idea of how to write a good story, but if 5 writer's on a writer's forum tell me it isn't that good and needs to be worked on, I don't tell them that a painter said it was good.

My logo wasn't great when I first started, but now I have something I'm happy with. It took time, but I had a similar reception as your site and logos have had when I had initial ideas. I took the advice on board, and like I say, I now have something I like.

Your confidence is misplaced, I am afraid. Your copy is sloppy, extremely so. The spelling mistake in "Some of our recent works that have been developed by Dot Media Solutions.... More in our porftolio" would be trivial if the rest of it weren't so ungrammatical. "Bespoke website designed for local artist and sculpture the clients brief was something simple to show off his art work" is an English as She is Spoke candidate.

Not by any means i quite agree.....and as you say your logo has evolved with you as i'm sure ours will with the business.
We are a start up business and no matter what skills you have you always learn along the way from mistakes made.
We won't always get it right but then who does! But i'd like to think as the business matures and we settle into it properly then the maturity will be reflected in the site and presentation of it.
We are happy with it at present ( after spellings mistakes and grammar have been corrected of course! lol!)
But i can imagine in a few months down the line this may change
