Have you heard of Bitcoin? Carboncoin is an innovative new crypto-currency similar to Bitcoin. The brief for this contest is to design a new logo for the face of the coin, so that it best reflects the aims and ideals of the Carboncoin Project, as well as the coin's status as the only completely Carbon Neutral crypto-currency. Ecologically minded graphic designers are encouraged to submit simple designs. The winner will receive 1 million Carboncoins. (Carboncoins can be exchanged for Bitcoins, Dogecoins, Cash etc. and have the potential to rise in value similar to Bitcoin.)

The value if converted into fiat currency today would probably not be significant. However, the potential to make significant gains in the medium term is enormous. Read up on Bitcoin and other crypto-currencies and their historic values. We decided to try and broaden our reach and extend the competition to graphic designers in general, even though we anticipated skepticism. This was in an effort to encourage awareness about crypto currencies and inform those that are ecologically aware and interested in environmental issues that they can become involved in the project.
