Book Cover Design rates...

Hi, I've been approached by a large London based publishing house to see if I'd be interested in designing book covers for them. Due to have a conversation later this week, they're bound to ask how much I charge. Does anyone have any idea what kind of design rates they would typically pay?

You're thinking about it the wrong way around. What design rates do you typically charge?

Just tell them what you charge, and if it's higher than what they would typically want to pay, open up negotiations. That's part and parcel of meeting with potential clients/commissioners.

How did you attract your lead, to the point that they approached you? Any tips?
