Portfolio Critique

I'd say you have some talent.
Don't copy or use stock photos though - I'm 99% sure you have - as per my post above.
I haven't copied nothing: it isn't ethic and it doesn't have sense for a person trying to develop a career with its ideas and executions. Ar this point I can only say that it was a generic idea and nothing more

Nobody cares. A potential client will scan the logos and decide from there if it’s worth picking up the phone. A few might look at the case study but they will want to scan the page not try a digest a bunch of images with different layouts and styles.

Keep it simple:

Description > image > more words > images > call to action > related projects.
Thank you fisicx, next time I'll focus on other elements than these.

It is highly suspicious with the exact same shape and thickness. If it's random that is weird.

First I don't like the fact I have to go to behance to view the work... in fact it's actually breaking one of the forum rules.

As to the work:
NC3C - doesn't read as acbc, the rest is just waffle and sticking the logo onto stock imagery/templates.

Giovane roma - you go on about the wolf, romulus and remus but the work you end up with has absolutely no relation to the wolf whatsoever.
Like hankscorpio, no idea what that text with the blue lines is for, if anything it's showing it's flaws with kerning etc.
I have zero idea why you've even focused on the two O's...

Talotta....oh look it's the English rose logo, sorry but at least on a UK forum that has too much reference to the red rose we use. Can't say I really like the overall flow of the rose and even if I remove the 'English rose' vibe I'd be thinking tattoo's before hair. It also looks very familiar.

Parsons...pretty sure I've seen that logo somewhere before and not just on a stock image

Ultimately and this goes for all of them, if we, as designers, can't understand the design without the explanations then there's no way a normal person is going to.

Side note... it's all very well you using stock imagery to show designs but personally I think you should state that you've used it and shouldn't be relying on it to 'bulk up' the work on the page

Look, man I can understand your interpretation, but do not tell me that I based on stock image because it is not so. You tell me that the work is trivial?
Ok, I can accept that, I'll definitely work on it, but don't tell me that it never occurred to you to develop a brand that was visibly similar to an existing one.

The Parsons logo was shown to be already widely used, my fault for not doing enough research to avoid this.

Talotta's logo? I honestly don't find equality with the English rose logo, except for the fact that in itself it is always a rose. The shape of a rose is generally this, and I have tried to style it in a unique way. If you can then find another that is similar and the same, I would love to see it.

ACBC? The execution isn't the best, but I can't find how this too can be associated with stock images.

Let's be clear that with this I have no intention of responding with "pride", defending my choices regardless, nor does this take away from the criticisms made against me as I welcome them with open arms.

I think he just meant that the logos are stuck on stock templates - which they are - aren't they?
As someone who hires - I always appreciate when it's clear to me what was a stock template was used.

You've got great feedback here - for a weekend!

I suggest you take away the bits that are most important - work on them and repost here.

Remember you need to get into that 1% of people that will be picked or jobs.

So you took all the pictures used for the bags, the street advert, the shoes etc... they're stock images/templates, it's as simple as that.

Also I said sticking the logo ON TO stock imagery, not that the logo was stock imagery.... makes a huge difference to your reply if you read the whole post correctly.

As to the rest... if you can't take critiques about your work, you're not going to last long in the design industry, what we've said is incredibility easy going compared with how I critique my own work and how clients have critiqued mine (and most of the others on here) work. Not to mention competition in design is insanely high and if you're lucky 1% of people make it professionally.

I agree.

I remember one of the first places I worked - and you'd give a logo presentation to the client, i the client didn't like it the boss would tear strips off you in front of the client. There were days people left through the fire escape never to return.

It's a harsh unforgiving job, at times.

I misinterpreted the message then, forgive me. I truly thank you from the bottom of my heart for your feedback, where you showed me a side of the coin that I was not able to see for myself.
It is indeed hard work, where especially at the beginning there are many uncertainties.
I just hope to be able to go further and fully grasp your advice.

First thing you need to do is get away from behance and learn how to write stories. Most of your markeitng will not be actual logos you create, it's what you say about those creations. Weave a story and publish on the right platform and even the most mediocre logo can generate interest.

And it's NC3C not AC3C

Do you have some suggestions about more appropriate platforms? Except a personal website

I suggested Wordpress in a earlier post. It’s free and with the right theme ideally suited to lead generating portfolio site.

Not sure what you mean by personal website.

I skimmed over work, I think generally you have talent but need more projects to really fine tune your craft

Some impressive and detailed feedback from previous replies! You can learn a lot from it!
