hi,

i want to save this ball with its gradients as a SVG file for my website. Turns out to that it's not possible, maybe because SVG does not support this complex gradients?
Does anybody knows a trick or workaround for that?

thanks alot!
Sven

To save the JPG file as a SVG file for your website, I will suggest
trying online available tools. Upload the JPG file and convert it
into an SVG file. You can try the following online websites:
  • Convertio
  • Zamzar

I'd like to see how that turns out.

All I did was use export to svg on affinity photo and got the below (converted back to jpeg due to svg not being supported - @Stationery Direct any chance for support?).... not perfect (it's likely rasterised a fair bit) but better than those online converters

Yeah works much better in Illustrator, think I have sorted the SVG attachment issue too.

Hi all -
New member here and just scrolling thru some of the posts when I came across this one.
I'm fairly/very new to Illustrator but have been playing with auto trace.
Took down the Paths and Corners sliders and also used a High Fidelity Photo setting. This was done to get rid of the banding that was occurring on the gradients.
Here's a jpg of what i came up with and also a link to the svg file since I can't post that format:

Here's a link to the vector files:

I basically just opened the vector I created in Photoshop and then saved as a jpg.

Late to the game but always willing to learn! :giggle:

I deleted the linked file because to put it simply, you're a new poster and we have no idea if that file is 'clean'.

For reference this forum 'should' support svg files being uploaded although thumbnails might not show.

Hi Levi - thanks for the response. I understand the caution. The jpg is a pretty good representation of the final svg file.
I tried it as an attachment but it wouldn't load.
Thanks again - looking forward to meeting and collaborating with other members!

It might be because the file was an .svgz file rather than just an .svg file
Yep - you're right. Just tried it as an svg and it would work. But didn't post because it changed the result.
Trying to understand the differences...
